The Chillcel filter material works well and lasts longer than other types of filters… but it is a bit smelly when you first turn the air conditioner on! The good news is, the smell doesn’t last for long. The best way to get rid of it is to open the windows and run the cooler on one of its higher fan settings for the first day – the smell should soon disappear.
